Bishop running for state house – Small business owner seeks House seat vacated by Cortez

“Stuart Bishop, a Lafayette Republican, is announced today his candidacy to represent the state’s 43rd House district.
Bishop, who is a first-time candidate for office, is a co-owner of the small business Baldwin Redi-Mix.
He is seeking the seat that Page Cortez, R-Lafayette, is vacating in order to run for the 23rd state senate seat. Cortez announced his candidacy for that seat Tuesday morning.
“I firmly believe our best days are still ahead, but just having hope will not prepare us for the future,” Bishop said in a news release announcing his bid for office…”
